Here is an article from her blog, "Where Is Our Generation Going"

Where Is Our Generation Going
Always eating the same damn thing, Spending our time on the phone or on the computer. Always complaining about supid things. Wanting everything and RIGHT now . Always asking for more . Saying "I love you" to anybody. Spending our lives outside. Notice something and regret that we didn't think about it sooner . Especially do not work, Supply a minimum of effort or sometimes none. Watch the clock every 30 seconds, sleeping . Being in trouble for nothing, but always for the same nothing . Want this, want that, but especially want Him* Look at the others like we were better and laugh . DO NOT hear about parents. Always watching this stupid show on TV, every single day at the same hour . Opening our planner and always closing it up immediatly. Always push things away to the next day. Looking at ourselves in a mirror. Not Listening to anybody. Similar conversations for ever arriving at the same point . A need to hang on any mark of affection, never sincere, conccurence absolved. It is always better elsewhere, pure and simple dissatisfaction . We are contradictory, The happiness is derisory, and the smiles don't last for very long.

Straight Guys Care Too

Straight Guys Care Too
Whether you consider this is in or out, think twice about your outfit because there are guys with strong strong opinions!

Whether you consider this is in or out, think twice about your outfit because there are guys with strong strong opinions!

As a classmate and I try to concentrate in calculus for our last finals, we can’t help but get distracted by these girls in our class that dress – well let’s just say not so pleasant to the eyes. One of our recent text convos looked like this:

Friend: What the hell is that dumb girl wearing? ???
Me: You look at her way too much. Just ignore her.
Friend: She’s in my line to the board… It pains me it’s like one of those things that is so gross you can’t turn away. You just go DAMN what happened?
Me: haha I know how you feel.
Friend: That girl is so trashy! Black bra that you can see. c’mon seriously.

After you’ve read this conversation it sounds like two normal college girls squabbling over some other girl in class. Well, no. It ends up that this friend of mine is actually a guy and no he’s not gay or into fashion and art. Just your typically college boy that wants to get passed tests and finals.

“High heels, ripped jeans, brown belt, see through shirt with the black bra, and the zebra print bag – none of those matched each other!” exclaimed my friend as we were walking out of class. Sighing he adds, “That girl has no fashion sense whatsoever.”

This whole remark made me laugh, but later it got me thinking, do guys really notice that much? This friend of mind never appealed to me as the type that criticizes a girl’s fashion, so I was utterly surprised later when I looked back at the conversation. So I guess straight guys do care more or less about how we dress. Never did I think that, in a town where I live in, I would meet a guy with such a strong opinion about clothes. It gives me all the more reason to think twice about what I wear before I leave the house. haha :)

Zac Posen fashion reviews

POSEN FOR AN AD: When Luis Venegas, publisher of the indie fashion magazine Fanzine137, offered Zac Posen a double spread to create his ideal ad, the designer jumped at the chance. He enrolled photographer Ellen von Unwerth, his stylist friend Christopher Niquet and model Alexandra Tomlinson for a day, and directed the shoot at his friend Lorraine Kirke’s house in December. “Once Ellen saw me singing Cole Porter, laying on top of Lorraine’s grand piano, she decided it had to be the spot for the picture,” Posen said.

The resulting visual — Posen’s first ad ever — appears in the spring-summer issue of the magazine, which features Lonnie Anderson on the cover and is available at such stores as Opening Ceremony and St. Mark’s Bookshop. Posen said his inspiration for the ad was a mix of Ava Gardner in the movie “The Barefoot Contessa” and classic Fifties Revlon advertising. In the shot, Tomlinson wears one of Posen’s spring leopard-kiss print powder pink dresses, and holds a cat.

“The hardest part was selecting the best image,” Posen said. “You want something that grabs the attention on the page and something that is simple…direct and cohesive. I wanted it to be pure and true to yourself and to your customer.” — Marc Karimzadeh
