EMO T-Shirts

emo t shirt Image from BleedingStarClothing

Emo, which is a shortcut for “emotional,” is an important fashion trend nowadays. Emo clothing is rooted in other fashion styles, such as goth and punk. Emo fashion is associated with dark tight-fitted clothes, with occasionally flashy accessories.

Emo t-shirts are important pieces in the closet of any emo. Emo t-shirts can be very symbolic and expressive of the person’s feelings and interests. If you want to dress like an emo, here are the basic characteristics of an emo t-shirt that you need to know.

  • Emo t-shirts are typically dark colored t-shirts. A plain black t-shirt is a favorite among emos.

  • If you are not into wearing plain dark-colored t-shirts, striped or checkered t-shirts will also do.

  • Dark colored t-shirts mixed with other colors, such as neon, can also be worn.

  • Typical designs for emo t-shirts include various ghoulish symbols, such as a skull or a broken heart.

  • Emo t-shirts may also have logos of emo bands, such as Dashboard Confessional and Hawthorne Heights, printed on them.

  • Emo t-shirts are usually slim-fitted.

Emo t-shirts are best worn with pencil-tight jeans, studded belts and oversized belt buckles, and a pair of Vans or Converse shoes. Also consider getting a pair of horn-rimmed glasses and a black messenger bag. To complete the emo look, it is advisable to get an emo haircut and put on some simple black eye make-up, such as eyeliner or eye shadow. These tips apply for both guys and girls.

Although these are the clothes commonly worn by emos, you should not be limited to these. Remember that being emo calls for a sense of creativity, individuality and non-conformity. Your clothes say a lot about who you are and what you are feeling at the moment. Be true to yourself! Be emo!

Mens Fashion Clothing: Choosing the Right Tie For Your Shirt

Mens fashion clothing is all about wearing clothes and other accessories that make you look better. Necktie is one of the accessories that have become an essential part of mens fashion clothing now. Matching necktie with a shirt is not a big deal for some people that use to wear neckties for a long time but for most of people, it is a big problem to match an appropriate necktie for shirt. For men that find it difficult to match a suitable tie for their shirts there are some basics that will help them to choose the right one for their shirt.

solid+color+contrast.jpgWhite plain shirts

In mens fashion clothing plain white shirts are the easiest selection because the selection of tie for plain white shirt is not a big deal. You can choose any color tie with these shirts. The most appropriate option is to select the tie color matching your trouser.

Solid color plain shirts

In mens fashion clothing for solid color shirts like red, yellow, blue, purple etc you can match tie of either same color or make a contrast. Using a same color tie is very easy and very old trend in mens fashion clothing. Making contrast is choosing a tie with different color from shirt in a way that will go well. Some famous contrasts in mens fashion clothing are: A pink shirt with burgundy or navy blue tie, a pale blue shirt with a red, yellow, burgundy, navy or gold tie, a pale tan shirt with any brown shade tie. These colors are also known as coordinating colors in mens fashion clothing because the color of tie coordinates with a different color shirt.

Striped shirts

striped+shirt.jpgIn mens fashion clothing selection of tie with striped shirt is not very hard but still need some considerations. It is a systemic way first place the striped shirt at some distance and decides what color is seen by you at first. After the color decision choose the color of tie according to coordinating colors. The next step is to select the pattern of tie for striped shirts. If you use striped tie then the striped used should be different in size with that of striped of shirt. Same criteria for other patterns of tie that tie should be looked a different thing from shirt.

Checked shirts

checked+shirt.jpgIn mens fashion clothing checked shirt is another basic type of shirts. Selection of the tie for checked shirt can be done on same way as in striped shirt. In case of checked shirts, striped tie pattern is the most appropriate choice in mens fashion clothing. Pin dot or polka dot pattern can also be used but in a way that the size of boxes or dots on tie should be different from boxes of shirt.

Burberry Fashion Trends Images Review

The Burberry family has been reunited for this shoot, which took place in London, the home of the brand. For the first time Burberry models Kate Moss and Stella Tennant feature together in the same campaign. The historic cityscape of the capital serves as the backdrop to the shoot. Photographer Mario Testino who has shot the campaigns since Spring/Summer 1998 is once again behind the camera.

The cross generational aspect of the brand is highlighted by the several generations of its cast members; Stella Tennant and her daughter Jasmine, Bryan Ferry and his sons Otis, Isaac and Tara, Lady Jacquetta Eliot and her son Louis. There is a nod to British cultural heritage of the past through legendary 60s model Penelope Tree, 70s singer/songwriter Bryan Ferry and David Bailey’s son, Fenton, an up-and-coming photographer. The enduring synergy between music and fashion are represented by Bryan Ferry and Brit band Kasabian and singer/songwriter Louis Eliot. Other links to the London’s past and future

Hand Coloured Engraving

This hand coloured engraving (click) is from a William IVth fashion periodical called La Belle Assemblée. It came complete with the text, a fashion description of fabrics and styles of the greatest detail for May 1831. Descriptive text is so often missing so this was a joy to read.

At 24cm by 15cm, La Belle Assemblée is often much smaller than people expect when they first buy original prints. That's because at about 9" tall it was intended to be held for reading.

However the smallness means the engravings have a delicacy and daintiness, making them even more attractive to collectors.

Instead of collecting vintage or antique fashion clothes, many people choose to collect fashion related paper ephemera. This can include such diverse items as costume plates, fashion plates, ladies magazines, paper dressmaking patterns, paper fashion dolls, fashion drawings, fashion related antiquarian books and costume or fashion related photographs. Some of these items can be antique, vintage or reproduction items related to the era, but all capturing aspects of fashion through illustrations made long ago.

I collect fashion plates of both authentic and reproduction types. Just below is an example of a quality hand coloured 1831 fashion plate engraving I own and taken from the magazine La Belle Assemblée. This print was purchased from the eBay seller Cabrio4 who specialises in Regency and Romantic engravings. You can read more about the history of La Belle Assemblée and other fashion periodicals with fashion plates in my new section coming shortly.

As well as having a professional interest I collect my fashion plates purely for pleasure, based on criteria many women will understand. It's a completely non intellectual, non academic approach most of you will recognise. Firstly I ask myself - 'is it pretty??' Secondly if I buy it, 'might it be the start of a new room colour scheme? Thirdly 'might it come in useful for my website?' I honestly don't mind if it's a reproduction as long as I like the print and the quality of the original work shines through. Some prints on offer are crude and poorly executed, but as with most collections, with time you become more discriminating.

2008-2009 winter hottest fashion trends

2008-2009 winter hottest fashion trends

What to wear this winter? The bright primary colors of the last year are gone, but this doesn't mean that 2008/2009 winter is going to be dull and boring. The hottest looks of winter demand colorful choices, architectural clothing shapes and bold combination of different pieces. Tomato reds, teal greens, indigo blues, subtle tones of apricot and honey and rich tones of aubergine purple are going to compete with come back of the grays.

Think bold when choosing clothing for winter 2008-2009, especially if you're looking for a coat. The shape of clothing should make a statement. Fashion designers offer pyramid shaped coats, emphasized hour-glass shaped coats and dresses, clothing with emphasized shoulders line, tulip shaped skirts and carrot top pants. Shapes like those are very expressive, so the garments are mono-colored or indistinctly ornamented and contain as less decorative details as possible. If trendy shapes are too daring for you, go for compromise: variations of large collars. Knitted or furry, modern or vintage style - collar must be big and make a contrast to either texture or fabric or color of the clothing. Collars are not for coats only; they adorn jackets, vests and cardigans too.

This winter is the right time to become romantic biker. Glossy leather clothing, biker jacket and shiny zippers are the must-haves. But this image is neither heavy nor aggressive; leather clothing is combined with fur, knitwear, see-through fabrics and puffy playful skirts.

Grey used to be the new black on the last winter. This color is very gratifying as it goes well with all the other tones and makes a nice background for bright colors. However, the shades of dark slate grey said good bye a year ago and softer silverfish tones appear to accompany large variety of rose quartz, pale taupe, lavender, lemon chiffon and other beiges. The creamy tones work well all together, but they also compliment rich colors that are trendy 2008-2009 winter.

There's no dress versus skirt discussion for fashion trends of winter 2008/2009. Skirts hadn't disappeared, but fashion designers presented lots of dresses for feminine, femme fatale, prom style or folkloric looks. Favorite patterns for dresses are arabesque and geometric prints. However, the hottest trend is accentuating fabric or texture or shape of a dress instead of accentuating prints. Winter 2008-2009 brings large assortment of dresses: fancy prom dress to com...
